Welcome to Senya Beraku: A Haven for Creativity and Cultural Immersion

Senya Beraku, located along the stunning Gulf of Guinea in Ghana’s Central Region, is a vibrant coastal town full of natural beauty, rich culture, and artistic inspiration. Its picturesque landscapes—rolling hills, serene beaches, and flowing rivers—offer the perfect backdrop for creative exploration.

The town’s strong cultural heritage is showcased through festivals like Akumase, where music, dance, and tradition bring the community together in vibrant celebration. Historical landmarks like Fort Good Hope also add a layer of intrigue, providing artists with a unique link to the past.

Senya’s welcoming community thrives on fishing and agriculture, offering visiting artists a glimpse into daily life, filled with colour and human connection. The town’s diversity is reflected in the various languages spoken, including Beraku (Awutu), Akan, and English, adding depth to the experience of cultural exchange.

The Arms Around The Child Artist Residency, located at the Christian Atsu Education Centre, allows visiting artists to grow their practice while engaging with the local children through art. It’s a space for collaboration, discovery, and mutual learning, all set against the inspiring backdrop of Senya Beraku’s natural beauty and rich traditions.

We look forward to welcoming you to this creative sanctuary where nature, culture, and art come together to inspire.
