Children’s Care and Education
At Arms Around The Child, we exist to protect and support children who have experienced poverty, abandonment, HIV, abuse and neglect. Our work is grounded in one simple belief: every child deserves safety, stability and the opportunity to shape their own future. We work in long term partnership with local organisations and communities to provide care that is consistent, dignified and built to last.
A safe place to belong
Everything begins with safety.
We support homes where children are cared for in stable, family environments, surrounded by people they can trust. These spaces allow children to feel secure, often for the first time, and begin to rebuild a sense of belonging.
Our focus is always long term, working alongside local teams to ensure each child receives consistent care and support.
Education that opens doors
Education is the foundation for independence.
We support access to schooling, invest in classrooms and create learning environments where children can grow in confidence and ability.
Alongside academic learning, we encourage creativity, critical thinking and life skills, helping children to move forward with purpose.
Emotional and psychosocial support
Care goes beyond the physical.
Many of the children we support have experienced trauma. We prioritise emotional wellbeing through psychosocial support, mentoring and consistent relationships that help children process their experiences and build resilience over time.
Working through partnership
We believe in working with, not around.
Our approach is built on trusted partnerships with local organisations, community leaders and statutory bodies. This ensures that support is relevant, respectful and sustainable, led by those who understand the context best.
Supporting the bigger picture
Children thrive when their environments are strong.
Alongside care and education, we support wider initiatives that strengthen families and communities. This helps reduce vulnerability and creates more stable futures for the children we work with.
